K3's Astronomy - Moon
"When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars which You have set in place, what is Man that You are mindful of him?" -- Psalm 8:3,4

Date 2.4.2001 20:07 UTC
Telescope 3" Bushnell Newtonian, f=700mm
Camera Philips Vesta Pro
Exposure Manual 1/25s, 10fps

Image Processing Moon was "scanned" into files with K3CCDTools. From each AVI file the sequence was stacked with K3CCDTools. Mosaic of images was coumpounded in Corel Photo Paint (moving and rotating). The final bitmap was resampled to 50% size and unsharp-masked.

Bellow is the image processed from the same AVI sources, but with new version of K3CCDTools:
1. X2 mode
2. Auto-Aligning of frames
3. Selection of the best frames with minimum difference

Click the image to see high resolution image - 1.65"/pixel. For better color fidelity, the red component of the final image was reduced.
The difference between this image and image above is apparent.
