M51 - The Whirlpool Galaxy (combined photos from 24.05. and 25.05.)
Resolution: 2.36 arcsec/pixel
Camera: Vesta 675SC2 + 0.6FR
Telescope: 8" F6 Orion Europa Newtonian
Result focal ratio: F3.6
Exposure: 68x45s + 9x65s + 52x45s (gain 100%), AMP OFF, DF, FF
Seeing: soft wind

Very famous galaxy with its companion NGC5195. It's about 37 millions light years distant.

Processing:
1, Images from 24.05. and 25.05. were combined in MaximDL Demo
2, Unsharp mask applied

The same image as above, but histogram stretching was applied.

Another galaxy - IC4278 (16 mag) is also visible on the left side.

M51 - The Whirlpool Galaxy, 25.05.2003 (24.05.2003 23:52 - 01:01 UT)
Resolution: 2.36 arcsec/pixel
Camera: Vesta 675SC2 + 0.6FR
Telescope: 8" F6 Orion Europa Newtonian
Result focal ratio: F3.6
Exposure: 68x45s + 9x65s (gain 100%), AMP OFF, DF, FF
Seeing: very soft wind
Temperature: ~15°C

Processing:
1, 77 frames (68x45s + 9x65s) were captured and summed in X2 mode in K3CCDTools
2, histogram stretching and gamma 1.20
3, resized to 2/3 of size + unsharp masking in Corel PhotoPaint

M51 - The Whirlpool Galaxy, 24.05.2003 (00:31 - 01:14 UT)
Resolution: 2.36 arcsec/pixel
Camera: Vesta 675SC2 + 0.6FR
Telescope: 8" F6 Orion Europa Newtonian
Result focal ratio: F3.6
Exposure: 52x45s (gain 100%), AMP OFF, 6xDF, FF
Seeing: very soft wind
Temperature: ~15°C

Again I can confirm that good mount is half of good scope!
All 52 captured frames wer good for summation.

Processing:
1, 52 frames captured and summed in X2 mode in K3CCDTools
2, histogram stretching and gamma 1.20
3, resized to 2/3 of size in Corel PhotoPaint

Click the image to see the full size picture (1.57"/pixel).
The same AVI source as above, but higher gamma (1.50) was used in processing.
The same AVI source as above, gamma 1.20 and strong histogram stretching.
